To commemorate Earth Week, April 16-23, the 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron Environmental Flight is asking people to evaluate their energy-use and conservation habits. If people can find ways to use a little less energy, they can reduce the impact they have on the resources in their areas. Also, people can save money by making a few changes to the amount of energy they use, both at work and at home.

Here are some energy saving tips:
· When possible, walk to meetings instead of drive. It helps save fuel and reduce wear on roads, and it helps decrease air pollution.
·
· Turn off the lights when leaving a room.
·
· People should turn off equipment when they are finished with it. This includes things such as copiers and printers.
·
· Plant a tree. Trees can provide shade and shelter to buildings, and they can reduce the amount of energy needed to cool a building in the summer.
·
· Fill yards with rocks and bushes instead of just grass. Rocks don't require water, and bushes require less water than grass. Plus, rocks and bushes don't need to be mowed, which saves fuel.
·
· Buy products with minimal packaging. Excess packaging means more trash and more waste, and it also means paying more for a product
·
· Go to the park instead of the amusement park.
