McConnell's guest speaker

Dr. Don Conway-Long, a professor from Webster University, talks to Team McConnell members about Islam, the religious faith of Muslims and development of Muslim culture during the education center’s Guest Speaker Series, May 18 at the base theater. He talks about the difference between Islam and radical Islam. He also discusses the longstanding religious differences and difficulties between the Shi’a and Sunni Muslims and focused on the impact these cultures have on America and other allied troops serving in the middle-east region. The series is open to all McConnell personnel and will feature several speakers over the next four months from different universities and learning institution around Wichita. The next presenter in the series is Dr. J.A. Sheppard, from Southwest College, who will present “Religion and War: When religion and politics are the same.” The presentation is scheduled for June 22 from 3-4 p.m. in the Dole Center ballroom.
