Mental: Approaching life's challenges in a positive way by demonstrating self-control, stamina and good character with choices and actions; seeking help and offering help.

Physical: Performing and excelling in physical activities that require aerobic fitness, endurance, strength, flexibility and body composition derived through exercise, nutrition and training.

Social: Developing and maintaining trusted, valued friendships that are personally fulfilling and foster good communication, including exchange of ideas, views and experiences.

Spiritual: Strengthening a set of beliefs, principles or values that sustain an individual's sense of well-being and purpose. Spiritual fitness is about having a sense of purpose and meaning in your life. It's essential to an individual's resiliency as esprit de corps is vial to a unit's mission accomplishment. It includes but not limited to worldviews, religious faith, sense of purpose, sense of connectedness, values, ethics and morals.

Take advantage of these programs and services to help you strengthen your mental resilience.

Military Family Life Consultants (MFLC)
Provide anonymous, confidential support to Airmen and their family members, especially those returning from deployments. Program serves active duty Air Force, National Guard and Reserve Airmen and their families. Certified counselors can help you and your family problem solve with issues resulting from deployment, reunions, reintegration and other times of change including: marriage and relationship issues, family issues, stress and anxiety , depression, grief and loss, anger management , and parent and child communication. Pastoral Counseling
Chaplains are uniquely trained to assist one in considering the universal foundations of personal problems when counseling others. Whether you need to talk about stress, child-raising, marriage and family life, workplace issues, crisis intervention, health issues, or anything else, your local chaplain can provide absolute confidentiality when providing care and guidance. Adult Mental Health Services
At your local Mental Health Clinic, individual psychotherapy is provided by clinical psychologists and clinical social workers. If there is a psychiatrist available on site, the clinic will offer medication management. Referral to appropriate clinical service for medication if there is no psychiatrist on site. Clinics also offer mental health education courses, prevention and outreach as well as pre-deployment preparation and post-deployment reintegration. Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment
Access substance abuse education, prevention and outreach at your base. Active duty members may receive individual counseling, follow-up and group aftercare as well as transitional/support services. Also receive intensive post evaluation counseling and ask about the treatment referral system. For more information, contact the Mental Health Clinic at 759-6300.

Personal and Family Readiness
The Airman and Family Readiness Center promotes Airman and family preparedness through education and participation in readiness support functions. Families are provided assistance during extended absences of the military member while deployed or remote, emergencies, and natural disasters. Pamphlets, books and videos discuss how to prepare, cope and come back together as a family. A&FR Center staff work through units, spouse support groups and with individuals to provide advice and help. Other materials help single people, who have different issues, prepare for deployment. Personal Financial Management
The Airman and Family Readiness Center staff provides information, education, and personal financial counseling to help individuals and families maintain their financial stability and reach their financial goals. Seminars, classes, and individualized guidance are offered in the areas of budgeting, credit/debt management, home-buying, saving, investing, consumer protection, and general money management. Subject-matter experts work closely with base leadership to provide classes and individual counseling in areas of specific need.
