For Airmen to earn a Faces of A/R recognition, they must be nominated by members of their leadership, who choose individuals based on their demonstration of the Air Force's Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Tiffany Dalzell, 22nd Force Support Squadron Outdoor Recreation assistant director, received Faces of Air Refueling recognition July 19.

Dalzell assists in managing the daily functions of McConnell ODR. She also manages the development and execution of programming with the mission of increasing morale, welfare and recreation.

“Tiffany Dalzell has been with ODR for almost two years and has made tremendous improvements during her tenure,” said Chief Master Sgt. Tanica Bradt, 22nd FSS superintendent. “Most importantly, one of her focuses on enhancements was the section’s safety program. She completely rewrote their Job Safety Training Outlines, started new processes for conducting monthly supervisor spot inspections, ensured all personnel received annual safety briefings and were up to date on their training, and ensured the ODR facilities were organized, clean and free of hazards.

During the wing comprehensive inspection she received major kudos from the lead civilian and noncommissioned officer in charge of wing safety, which led to the squadron’s overall passing evaluation,” Bradt continued. “Tiffany has also come up with innovative events for ODR like the recent successful pheasant hunt and an upcoming ski trip that has brought in a clientele base. She is a tremendous asset to ODR and the entire Squadron and we're proud to have her on our team.”

The Spokane, Washington, native arrived at McConnell in September, 2016.

What are the best parts about the job?

I love working with the military demographic! My position at Outdoor Recreation allows me to place the recreation of our base personnel and their families at the forefront of my mission. During my short time with Outdoor Recreation, I have been introduced to so many amazing people, all with incredibly unique stories of their own. I am blessed with the opportunity of bringing recreation into their lives.

How do you feel you contribute to the mission?

I am a firm believer in the importance of recharging. Outdoor Recreation provides safe and affordable ways for our base members to experience the great outdoors. Not only can we introduce them to a new experience, but we also have the ability to nurture their need to take time out for themselves. Our goal is to facilitate that well-deserved down time so that our service members feel valued, recharged and ready for their mission of global support.

What are the keys to success in your McConnell career?

When I think of specific factors that have aided me in my successes, I immediately think of the support I’ve received from those around me. I think back to my father and the importance of work ethic, integrity and the value of giving back that he instilled in me. I have also developed a great deal of strength from my faith and my family. I feel like I have the most stable foundation a girl could ask for. In addition, I have an amazing team that works endlessly to provide support for me in everything I do. Without them, I would be only a fraction of who I am.

What is one goal that you have already accomplished, or would like to accomplish, during your career?

I have completed some things recently, like finishing my master’s degree, but for every goal accomplished, two more develop! I consider myself an ongoing work in progress, and always look for ways to learn and grow. I have a love for Outdoor Recreation, so it is difficult for me to ever think about moving on from where I am at. With that said though, I would love to continue on a path of leadership in the future. I believe as I grow professionally, I’ll only broaden the reach I have in helping serve those that serve or have served our country so selflessly.
