A KC-135 Stratotanker aircrew made up of Airmen from the 931st Air Refueling Wing
and the 22nd Air Refueling Wing made final preparations here Friday before leaving for Air Mobility Command Rodeo 2009
, a world-wide readiness competition at McChord AFB, Wash.
Reservists from the 931st and active-duty Airmen from the 22nd are scheduled to compete as a total-force team representing McConnell AFB for the first time. Eight of the team's Airmen are Reservists, including a KC-135 pilot, boom operator, five maintenance personnel and a security forces member.
The team was scheduled to leave for McChord AFB Saturday and return to McConnell on July 25. Rodeo was to begin Sunday. The biennial competition tests the many moving parts of military airlift and refueling capabilities. It includes maintenance

More than 100 teams and 2,500 people from the Air Force, and Air Force Reserve, as well as allied nations, are expected to participate. The last Rodeo competition took place in July 2007 at McChord AFB.
