22nd SFS Airman earns spotlight performer

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- As a spotlight performer, individuals are chosen by leadership for demonstrating the Air Force's Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Airman 1st Class Emily Reitz, 22nd Security Forces Squadron installation entry controller, was selected as the 22 ARW spotlight performer for the week of Jan. 27 through 31.

Reitz, a St. Peters, Mo. native, provides security and acts as a community liaison for McConnell. Reitz enlisted in August 2012 and joined Team McConnell in March 2013.

Reitz was hand selected to perform close boundary sentry duties during the GLOBAL THUNDER exercise where the Strategic Command commander called her efforts flawless.

Reitz also likes sports, working out, reading and watching movies during her time off.

"Reitz is by all accounts an exceptional Airman and a true professional in the performance of her assigned duties," said Senior Master Sgt. John Sobonya, 22nd SFS operations superintendent. "Since arriving at McConnell AFB, Airman 1st Class Reitz has not only quelled volatile domestic disturbances and apprehended wanted fugitives, but was a key player in Halloween Watch 2013, ensuring the safety of more than 1,000 children."
