The education office is scheduled to host an education fair and barbecue, Oct. 2 inside Hangar 1126 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., here.

The fair will highlight what the on-base schools have to offer as well as welcome Wichita State University as a new on-base school.

Jamie Baker, 22nd Force Support Squadron education counselor, said the fair is a great way to learn what is offered and to get some free food while it lasts.

McConnell’s four on-base schools, Butler Community College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Webster University and WSU work around the members’ schedules to allow them to complete their educational goals.

“Ultimately, it is a good idea to sit down with a counselor at the education office before making a decision to go to any school due to the Air Force Instruction regulations with using Tuition Assistance,” said Baker. “We want to set them up for success, since members are only allowed one degree change per degree level.”

The education office is also scheduled to host a bigger fair on Nov. 14 for both on- and off-base schools that will include more than 30 colleges.
