Mission

The 22nd Maintenance Group is the primary provider for a broad range of maintenance support for the KC-46A Pegasus & KC-135 Stratotanker fleet assigned here. This includes component repair and equipment maintenance. The group also provides training for all aircraft maintenance technicians assigned to the 22nd Air Refueling Wing and ensures quality of all maintenance performed on the tankers at McConnell.
 

22d AMXS

The 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron provides aircraft maintenance specialists for the KC-46A and is responsible for the flight line maintenance required to launch and recover sorties supporting air refueling operations, both at home and at deployed locations around the globe. 

22d MXS

The 22nd Maintenance Squadron provides on-and-off equipment maintenance for the assigned KC-135 aircraft for the wing. This includes isochronal inspections, aircraft systems component repair and inspections, aircraft systems component repair and refurbishment, manufacturing and machining of aircraft parts, corrosions control, painting of aircraft and parts, non-destructive inspections and delivery and maintenance of aerospace ground support equipment.

722d AMXS

The 722nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron provides aircraft maintenance specialists for the KC-135s and allow the 22nd AMXS the ability to make the KC-46 fully operational while the KC-135 is phased out of McConnell over the upcoming years.

The separation of squadrons allows Airmen and their commanders to focus all their attention on their specific aircraft and mission set.
