22nd SFS holds Combat Arms Competition
MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Staff Sgt. Nicholas Cordatos, 22nd Security Forces Squadron, counts up a score card for Airman 1st Class Jeffrey Clark, 22nd Medical Support Squadron, during the 22nd Security Forces Squadron's Combat Arms Excellence-in-Competition pistol and rifle match here July 24. The competition ran July 23-24 and was open to active-duty military members from all U.S. military branches of service. The pistol competition had 97 competitors, and the rifle competition had 68. Master Sgt. John Berendzen, 22nd SFS, had the top score in both the pistol and rifle match. Sergeant Berendzen scored 270 in the pistol competition and 467 in the rifle competition. He also earned a Bronze EIC Rifle Badge. Only seventeen competitors earned a rifle badge during the competition. Badge earners represented those who scored in the top 10 percent.
