As a spotlight performer, individuals are chosen by leadership for demonstrating the Air Force's Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Senior Airman Giani Dossman, 344th Air Refueling Squadron boom operator, received the spotlight performer for the week of Feb. 1 - 5.

Dossman has deployed three times providing critical combat power and protecting coalition ground forces. The operations group recently recognized Dossman for his performance by naming him the Instructor Boom of the Quarter.

"As an instructor boom operator, Dossman is responsible for the direct training of all of our booms, from our brand new operators, to those seeking re-qualification and others preparing to attend instructor school," said Lt. Col. Aaron Larose, 344th ARS commander. "He regularly leads ground, simulator, and flight training, all while maintaining his own currency and high level of proficiency. He is an incredible Airman, capable of executing the most demanding missions with precision and skill, and an essential member of the ravens, our ops group, and Team McConnell!"

Dossman, a Suffolk, Virginia native, joined the Air Force in May 2012 and arrived at McConnell in July 2013. His hobbies include working on and modifying cars, watching movies and hanging out at the beach.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
My parents are the most positive influence in my life because without their guidance I wouldn't have become the man I am today.

If you could give advice to a new Airman, what would it be and why?
The advice I would give them is that if they want to be successful, they have to show up to work everyday and do the best they can of what is expected of them. Also, don't be afraid to speak up with suggestions of new ways things can be done.

What is one goal that you have already accomplished, or would like to accomplish, during your Air Force career?
One goal that I have accomplished is becoming an Instructor Boom Operator. One thing I would like to accomplish is to become an Evaluator Boom Operator.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
Most interesting place I have traveled is Thailand. The culture in that part of the world is so different and unique that it is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience.

If you had the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
I would like to meet either Kevin Hart or Gabriel Iglesias because they are two of my favorite comedians and I can always use a good laugh.
