A U.S. Air Force Thunderbird F-16 Fighting Falcon from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, gets refueled Oct. 11, 2021, by a McConnell Air Force Base KC-135 Stratotanker. Four Thunderbirds were refueled on their way to Orlando, Florida. The Thunderbirds are often joined between stops by an Air Force tanker to provide a quick, non-stop route between performances. Six F-16’s received fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker assigned to the 349th Air Refueling Squadron, McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, enroute to Colorado. The flyovers allowed the Thunderbirds to showcase the Air Force’s support and gratitude to the heroes that continue to support the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19.
