Visitor Pass Request

McCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE VISITOR PASS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

 

Sponsoring 5 or fewer guests

Welcome to the improved Guest and Real ID Registration process for accessing McConnell AFB. 

Sponsorship Eligibility

An authorized U.S. DoD member can sponsor adults 18 years of age or older with a REAL ID (https://www.dhs.gov/realid-id).

Requesting a Pass

  1. Download the official request template HERE.
  2. All requests must be submitted by a member assigned to McConnell AFB and from your official .mil account.
  3. Requests for guests staying in housing for more than 5 days must have Mayroad Housing approve the requests. Guests staying beyond 5 days up to 363 days must not only seek approval from housing but must provide the VCC with Request for Accommodation (RFA) from the housing office. 
  4. Send the completed template to the 22nd Security Forces Visitor Control Center (22SFS.S5P.us.af.mil) at least three (3) duty days before your guests arrive. 
  5. You will receive a reply confirming receipt.

Background Check

Guests need to be advised by the sponsor that all information needed to process passes is mandatory and they are giving the information voluntarily, along with approval for the background check. Those not providing information will not be allowed access. 

VCC Security Technicians will conduct background checks of guests using authoritative databases and notify the sponsor of approval or denial via email. Any information received is strictly controlled and will not be shared outside of law enforcement per directive. 

If denied, results of the checks can only be discussed with the processed guest by current law enforcement. NO EXCEPTIONS. 

 

First Time Visitor Using a REAL ID

  1. The Sponsor must inform their guests to proceed to the VCC in-person on the day of the visit during the below times to register their REAL ID. In DBIDS this cannot be done at the gates. The REAL ID will be the guest's access credential. 
  2. VCC hours of operation: Monday-Friday 6 a.m.-6 p.m. (Subject to change) Closed on holidays and designated down days. 

Subsequent Visits

  1. Visitors that have previously registered their REAL ID at McConnell AFB may proceed directly to the approved gate for access on the dates and times requested by the sponsor and approved by the VCC. 
  2. Important Note: Sponsors must submit all subsequent requests (steps 1-3) at least three (3) duty days prior to their guest's arrival. Additional registration is not required. Should a guest be identified not having registered their REAL ID, the VCC will inform the sponsor. THe sponsor must inform the gate to proceed to the VCC for registration. 

 

Sponsoring large groups and events

The Special Event Program is recommended for a single large group event in excess of six to up to 300 guests on the installation for an official function such as graduations, change of commands, promotions, birthdays etc.  It is designed to allow approved guests to drive directly to the gate for access.

Sponsorship Eligibility

Requesting a Special Event Package:

  1. Download the official request template HERE 
  2. All requests must be submitted by a member assigned to McConnell AFB and from your official .mil account.

  3. Send the correctly filled Special Event template to the 22d Security Forces Visitor Control Center (22 SFS.S5P@us.af.mil) at least five (5) duty days before your guests arrive.

  4. You will receive a reply confirming receipt.

Once processed by VCC technicians the Chief of Visitor Control will send a Confirmation message to the sponsor.  

 

Day of the Event:

All approved visitors can proceed directly to the Main gate or Housing Gate, whichever applies.  Make sure to tell your guests to present their REAL ID to the sentry.  They should inform the sentry they were invited to an event and are on the guest list.

Main Gate

The East Gate is the main base entrance. It is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The East Gate is located on Kansas Street, off of South Rock Road.

Family Housing Gate

The Military Family Housing Gate is located off of South Rock Road on Arnold Street.

The housing gate is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The alternate housing gate is located off of East 31st Street and is only used when the main housing gate is closed.

Commercial vehicles and vendors can enter this gate directly after acquiring a pass at the Visitor Center if required. Inspections of the vehicles will be conducted at the gate. 

West Gate

The West Gate is located on Salina Road.

This gate is the entrance to the Kansas Air National Guard complex and where the commercial vehicle and vendor inspection station is located. Entrance is open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

It is closed on Saturday and Sunday except for designated drill weekends.

The West Gate is closed on holidays and wing down days.

7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
