22nd CS Airman earns Faces of A/R recognition

As a Faces of A/R recognition, members of leadership choose individuals who demonstrate the Air Force's Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Airman 1st Class Jacob Harris, 22nd Communications Squadron client systems technician, received the Faces of Air Refueling recognition Nov. 13.

Harris controls network access, manages reporting on non-secure internet protocol router network and secret internet protocol router network. He also supports and protects the Air Force network, the Department of Defense Information Network and the Global Information Grid by troubleshooting and repairing computers and mobile devices. He also ensures hardware and software are in compliance with Air Force and Department of Defense standards.

“Jacob gets the job done,” said Master Sgt. Noah Bugg, 22nd CFP section chief. “He understands the mission and what he brings to the fight. Every day, Jacob analyzes the trouble ticket queue and diligently tackles the tasks at hand. His calm demeanor, intelligence and aptitude make him a tremendous resource and asset to the fighting men and women of McConnell.”

The Georgetown, Kentucky, native joined the Air Force in August, 2015, and arrived at McConnell in February, 2016.


What are the best parts about the job?

The best part about the job is when I get a customer who’s appreciative of what we do at the communications squadron.

How do you feel you contribute to the mission?

I manage tickets and make sure they get to where they need to go so the problems can be resolved as soon as possible.

What are the keys to success in your Air Force career?

Consistently being where I need to be on time and making sure our customers are taken care of.

What is one goal that you have already accomplished or would like to accomplish during your Air Force career?

I had actually never won an award before, so I was just happy to be selected for Airman of the Quarter and Faces of A/R. I couldn’t be happier.
