MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. – The Friends of McConnell and Davis-Moore gave a generous donation to Team McConnell to be shared with many.

For the next couple of weeks, seven base organizations will be distributing gift cards as part of Operation Random Acts of Kindness, including: Company Grade Officers Group, Chiefs Group, First Sergeants, Top Three, Route 5/6, Airmen’s Council and McConnell’s Spouses Club.

 “With the help of the local community, the base will come together for this huge event to spread holiday cheer before the break,” said Master Sgt. Sarita Lomas-Nelson, 22nd Force Support Squadron first sergeant.

Each organization picked a location to distribute their cards. The locations are the commissary, 22nd Medical Group, Child Development Center, Robert J. Dole Community Center, main gate, fitness center and base housing.

 Wichita recently won the 2016 Abilene Trophy for their constant support.

 “It has been a great year for McConnell and the community continues supporting to our Airmen,” said Lomas-Nelson.
