22nd ARW Airman earns Faces of A/R recognition

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan.For Airmen to earn a Faces of A/R recognition, they must be nominated by members of their leadership, who choose individuals based on their demonstration of the Air Force's Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Senior Airman Racheal Osborne, 22nd Comptroller Squadron financial operations technician, received the Faces of Air Refueling recognition Feb. 5.

Osborne assists customers with any travel and military pay questions. She also manages the 22nd Air Refueling Wing’s finance permanent change of station in-processing program to ensure member’s pay is correct when they arrive at McConnell. Osborne runs the wing’s defense travel system program and is responsible for managing, training and accessing for all unit administrators. She also assists with the retirement and separation program to ensure members have a smooth transition after their completion of service.

"Senior Airman Osborne permanently changed station to McConnell from MacDill Air Force Base in June of 2017,” said Tech. Sgt. Dustin Floyd, 22nd CPTS financial services flight chief. “Despite needing to learn an entirely new job, Osborne has done nothing but shine in her new role. Her attention to detail and consistent effort are contagious to co-workers, and an asset to the work center. Osborne is vital to the mission accomplishment of the 22nd CPTS and McConnell."

The Wichita native joined the Air Force in February 2014 and arrived at McConnell in June 2017.

What are the best parts about the job?

The best parts about my job are getting to interact with the Airmen around the base and seeing the positive impact we can have.

How do you feel you contribute to the mission?

I contribute to the mission by making sure our members don’t have to worry about their pay while at home or down range fighting for our country.

What are the keys to success in your Air Force career?

The keys to success in my career so far have been great leadership and mentors. Having a great team around you makes all the difference.

What is one goal that you have already accomplished, or would like to accomplish, during your Air Force career?

My next goal for my Air Force career is to make staff sergeant this year.
