MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- The 2018 Air Force Assistance Fund at McConnell will conclude on May 4 during a closing ceremony at 4 p.m. in Signatures Lounge.

A $12 ticket purchase will include a choice of either two beef or chicken tacos and a beverage. During the ceremony, a pledge form will be available to fill out in order to help McConnell reach its end goal.

“The goal is just over $45,000, and we are sitting at $25,642,” said Master Sgt. John Tremblay, 2018 AFAF assistant installation project officer.

Donations can be made by cash and pay-roll deduction when filling out a pledge form. The deduction from the pay-roll can only be made by active-duty and retirees. Active-duty, guard, reserve and civilians are able to donate.

“We’ve had people that have donated more than most because they’ve used the aid before and now realize the importance of it,” said Tremblay.

Contact your group AFAF representatives for information concerning the closing ceremony and to purchase tickets.

Capt. Chelsie Fowler, 2018 AFAF installation project officer, explained that it’s not an instant gratification, but donations help Airmen in the long run. Whether it be a retiree in a nursing home or an Airman that is a single parent with emergency household needs.
