McConnell secured its reputation as a dominant force in the Air Mobility Command with the 22nd and 931st Maintenance Operations Squadron earning "Outstanding" scores and the 22nd and 931st Maintenance Squadrons Quality Assurance earning "Excellent" scores following an intensive four-day inspection of its logistics and maintenance procedures.

The inspection, named Logistics Compliance Assessment Program, evaluated how Airmen perform tasks in 869 areas related to logistics.

Inspectors evaluated how the 22nd Maintenance group, 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, the 931st Air Refueling Group perform in almost every logistic function, including training manuals, quality assurance, maintenance, port, terminal and vehicle operations.

"We are here to ensure their [the units] ability to perform key logistics processes in a safe, standardized, repeatable and technically compliant manner that promotes a culture of professional excellence and personal responsibility," he said. "This means we have a group of inspectors do a lot of over the shoulders [examinations] as well as review processes and programs to make sure they meet the standards and requirements."

Though the units knew of the upcoming inspection, they did not receive the official schedule until mid-November, said 1st Lt. Cesar Hernandez, 22nd Maintenance Squadron accessories Aerospace Ground Equipment flight commander. Though the thought of being evaluated by an AMC-level inspector may seem daunting to some Airmen, McConnell Airmen expressed their confidence going into the inspection.

"When we reviewed all the material we realized that [McConnell's] program was already up to standards," he said. "We were very confident going into the inspection and everyone had a good attitude about it."

The 22nd LRS echoed their confidence.

"It was a lot of long hours getting all the continuity updated and making sure everyone knew what they were doing," said Airman 1st Class Sonja Lund, 22nd LRS document control, customer support and customer service technician.

Lund was one of 16 Airmen recognized by the inspectors for her outstanding performance.

The inspectors overall analysis at the LCAP outbriefing accredited McConnell's total force integration as the catalyst to its successful mission execution, and complimented the supervisors ability to ensure effective communication flow at all levels.

Col. Ricky Rupp, 22nd ARW commander, was impressed by the LCAP results and thanked the Airmen at the outbrief for their hard work, especially immediately following a holiday. Rupp was also pleased with McConnell's results compared to other AMC wings.
