Entry control guards are the first line of defense for the installation and the first contact visitors have with Team McConnell. The 22nd SFS provides security 24-hours a day, seven days a week for more than 14,000 personnel and assets up including the more than 8,000 vehicles that pass though entry control points daily. The 22nd SFS members work eight-hour shifts, not including two additional hours before and after shift change to issue, clean and return weapons and equipment. The 22nd SFS has approximately 160 active-duty members, more than 20 guardsmen and reservists on active duty orders and more than 15 civilians who provide security and patrol for McConnell.
