Non-judicial punishment, such as an Article 15 punishment, provides commanders with a means of maintaining good order and discipline and promotes positive behavior changes in servicemembers without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. Punishment is determined on a case-by-case basis. Below is a list of prohibited actions committed by Airmen, who received Article 15s, as well as additional punishments. An Airman First Class was wrongfully engaged in sexual contact with another Airman, without permission. The member received a reduction to the grade of Airman, a reprimand and 14 days of extra duty. An Airman First Class consumed alcohol under the age of 21, damaged government property and unlawfully entered another Airman's dormitory. The member received a reduction to the grade of Airman, a reprimand and suspended forfeiture of $366 pay. An Airman First Class was disrespectful to an officer and a non-commisioned officer. The member received a suspended reduction to the grade of Airman and 14 days of extra duty. An Airman First Class had an overnight guest in the Airmen dormitories, was sleeping on duty and failed to go at the time to the place of duty. The member received a suspended reduction to the grade of Airman. An Airman fraudulently enlisted and possessed marijuana. The member received a reduction to the grade of Airman Basic and a reprimand. A Senior Airman disobeyed a lawful order given by an officer. The member received 21 days of extra duty, forfeiture of $1,063 pay and a reprimand. A Captain operated a vehicle while drunk and was drunk and disorderly in uniform. The member received a forfeiture of $2,000 pay for two months and a reprimand. An Airman First Class had an overnight guest in the Airmen dormitories. The member received a reduction to the grade of Airman, restriction to base for 30 days and 30 days of extra duty. An Airman First Class consumed alcohol under the age of 21. The member received a suspended reduction to the grade of Airman and 30 days of extra duty. An Airman First Class possessed an illegal weapon on two separate occasions, unlawfully grabbed a civilian and abused an animal on two separate occasions. The member received a reduction to the grade of Airman Basic and 15 days extra duty. A Staff Sergeant maltreated Airmen subject to his orders by making comments sexual in nature on three separate occasions and engaged in sexual contact with an Airman, without permission. The member received a reduction to the grade of Senior Airman and a reprimand. A Senior Airman consumed alcohol under the age of 21, damaged a window used to unlawfully gain access into a civilian's home. The member received a reduction to the grade of Airman First Class, a reprimand and 21 days extra duty. An Airman First Class consumed alcohol under the age of 21 and smoked cigarettes in the dormitories. The member received a reduction to the grade of Airman and 21 days extra duty.
