Article 15’s for July 1, 2009 through July 31, 2009 Published Aug. 14, 2009 By 22 Air Refueling Wing Judge Advocate 08/14/2009 -- Nonjudicial punishment, also known as an Article 15 punishment, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. Seven McConnell Airmen received Article 15's from July 1, 2009 - July 31, 2009. Punishment is determined on a case by case basis. - A staff sergeant from the 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron operated a vehicle while drunk. He received an immediate reduction to senior airman and a reprimand. - An airman from the 22nd Air Refueling Wing negligently failed to refrain from providing alcohol to an underage member. He received an immediate reduction to airman basic and a reprimand. - An airman first class from the 22nd Force Support Squadron willfully failed to refrain from consuming alcohol while under the age of 21. He received a suspended reduction to airman, forfeiture of $206 pay per month for 2 months, 10 days extra duty, and a reprimand. - An airman first class from the 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron misused his Government Travel Card. He received a suspended reduction to airman, forfeiture of $185 pay per month for 2 months, and 14 days extra duty. - An airman first class from the 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was disorderly. He received a suspended reduction to airman, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand. - An airman first class from the 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron willfully failed to stay awake while on duty in a deployed location. He received an immediate reduction to airman, suspended forfeiture of $200 pay per month for two months, and 45 days extra duty. - A staff sergeant from the 22nd Operations Support Squadron was absent without leave for less than three days. He received an immediate reduction to senior airman and a reprimand.
