McConnell is scheduled to host the Central Prairie Honor Flight committee at the Robert J. Dole Community Center ballroom July 31 at 6:30 p.m. They will brief WWII, Korean Era and Vietnam Era veterans and family members about the Honor Flight program.

The Honor Flight Committee's mission is to give WWII, Korean and Vietnam Veterans the best possible red carpet experience for free.

Within the last 18 months the committee has raised over $200,000 and sponsored five flights of WWII Veterans to Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia. The trip includes two nights at the Baltimore Hilton, a banquet, 10 Memorials, two Smithsonian's, and visits with Bob Dole and Jerry Moran.
