AMC seeks 2009 Air Force Marathon participants Published May 19, 2009 By Scott Black Air Mobility Command SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The Air Force holds its 13th annual Air Force Marathon September 19, at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. Air Mobility Command will sponsor an active duty team of runners representing various age groups to compete in the full marathon. AMC will select team members based upon submitted AF Form 303. Submit the completed forms through your base Fitness Center by July 3. Those selected will be notified by HQ AMC/A1S and placed on permissive temporary duty assignment for the marathon. In addition to the official AMC competitive team, all runner interested in competing in the Air Force Marathon are encouraged to do so but at their own expense. Other events include a wheelchair division of the marathon (consisting of hand-cranked and push-rim divisions), half marathon, individual 10K, and 5K. The USAF marathon, half marathon, and 10K will be held on September 19 and the 5K race will be held on September 18 at Wright State University Dayton, Ohio.
