The 22nd Air Refueling Wing, Team McConnell Action Center is scheduled to host a holiday recipe contest at the Base Chapel Annex, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Freedom First Credit Union Operation Star Tree program to buy toys for Team McConnell children.

"We wanted to hold this event to improve morale and encourage people to share traditional, and maybe some not so traditional, food for the holidays," said Tech. Sgt. Alisha Sawitsky, 22nd Air Refueling Wing, TMAC. "At the same time we can raise some money to help purchase gifts for the star tree. This is a good way to support the families, especially the children, of McConnell."

All participants will be required to supply a prepared dish to be judged. Entries must be at the Base Chapel Annex 10:30 a.m., Dec. 16.

Participants can enter one dish in each of the categories, appetizer, side dish, main dish and desert.

First, second and third place winners from each category will have their recipes published in the Dec. 19 edition of the Tanker Times.

Come and taste what Team McConnell has to offer this holiday season. For a taste of any food, it will cost 25 cents.

Servings will also be available:
· Appetizers - 25 cents
· Side dishes - 50 cents
· Main dishes - $1
· Desert - 50 cents

"Even if people are unable to go over the credit union and pick out a star, this is a good way to show support for the program," said Sergeant Sawitsky.
