It's that time of year again where scammers are trying to take advantage of people getting a little extra money.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, there have been reports of e-mails being sent out asking individuals to provide personal information in order to receive their stimulus payment.

The IRS has confirmed they do not initiate any type of communication with taxpayer's through e-mail. If you received your tax return by direct deposit, you will automatically receive your stimulus payment, if eligible, through direct deposit.

As a reminder to everyone, please think about operation security. Do not give out your personal information to anyone over e-mail, telephone, or internet. Especially social security numbers, passwords or financial information. In the event that you have been solicited with such an e-mail, be sure to report it according to the guidelines on the IRS Web site.
