Tops In Blue hosts free event Published Jan. 31, 2008 By Airman 1st Class Jessica Lockoski 22nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs MCCONNELL AIRFORCE BASE, Kan. -- -- Tops In Blue is scheduled to perform at the Century II Convention center, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The Tops In Blue performers include active duty Air Force members from many diverse career field areas who have competed among their military peers, to be a part of the 30-member entertainment team showcasing premier talent. Through music, dance and comedy, Tops In Blue is scheduled to perform 90 minutes of entertainment. The 2007/2008 edition of Tops In Blue, 'The Fly By', commemorates 60 years of Air Force history. "Tops In Blue is a high energy concert that is fun for everyone," said Stacy Mayou, 22nd Services Squadron marketing director. "This show is "Fly-By", honoring 60 years of Air Force tradition with great music that you just don't get to hear everyday." Audiences will be taken back in time as the show visually and musically winds its way through six decades of history with historical footage laced with songs from each era. "Tops In Blue is a truly feel good show that promotes the Air Force and its proud tradition," she said. "We hope the public comes away with a sense of pride in the United States and the Air Force." Tops In Blue 2007 keeps up more than 50 years of touring tradition by visiting all bases throughout the US and more than 25 foreign countries. Its aggressive tour schedule spans more than 120 locations and also includes entertaining forward-deployed troops in various locations in Iraq, Qatar, Afghanistan and Kuwait.
