The theme for the first week of the 101 Critical Days of Summer that runs May 26 to June 2, is Sport Bike Safety.

Sport bike training reduces accidents involving high-performance motorcycles by making Airman better riders and addressing the behaviors that cause single-vehicle mishaps. Studies show sport bike riders have 55 percent more accidents than other motorcycle types.

The sport bike training program doesn't replace the DoD directed Motorcycle Safety Foundation training, but complements it.

As a reminder, per AFI 91-207 AMCSUP 1, dated May 13, 2008, sport bike riders must complete the AMC approved Sport Bike Training Program.

Please contact the Safety Office at 759-3216 for questions on motorcycle training requirements or to schedule a motorcycle safety class.
