Leadership from across McConnell Air Force Base visited the Envision headquarters in downtown Wichita to learn about the services the company provides to blind and visually impaired individuals, March 9.

Envision, which started in 1933, serves as a leader in education, research and training for the blind and visually impaired. According to their website, they operate stores across 15 military instillations, which benefit their training and research programs.

During the tour to Envision, base leadership saw a variety of programs they offers, including the studio for the Brett and Tracy Morning Show on KKGQ 92.3 FM, a child development center for children with visual impairments, a Vision Rehabilitation Center and one of two manufacturing locations.

"We were honored to welcome Col. Albert Miller [22nd Air Refueling Wing Commander] and his team to Envision to receive a first-hand look at what we do and become even more familiar with how Envision is impacting the lives of people who are blind and visually impaired," said Buddy Sell, Envision's Senior Vice President, Manufacturing.

The tour served as a learning opportunity for leadership, showing them there was more to Envision than just an office supply store.

"There is such a huge variety of programs that are offered by Envision, from the radio station, to the childcare programs and so much more," said Miller.  "It was nice seeing how Team McConnell has an impact on what Envision is able to offer. The partnership between our organizations is fantastic."

Sell says that they hope the partnership can continue to be beneficial to both organizations.

"Envision's partnership with McConnell Air Force Base contributes to our daily successes and provides meaningful job opportunities," he said "This visit only helped to strengthen the commitment we have to working together."
