In recognition of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, a Motorcycle Mentorship Ride is scheduled for May 20, at 8 a.m. starting from the Base Exchange, here.

The mentorship ride will act as refresher training for motorcycle riders, and they can sign up by emailing the 22nd Air Refueling Wing Ground Safety Office at 22.arw.seg@us.af.mil no later than May 18.

"The purpose of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month is to remind individuals to share the road and remember that motorcycles are out there," said Tech. Sgt. Chelsie McCall, 22nd ARW Ground Safety NCO in charge of occupational safety. "It's also a reminder to riders to ensure they are visible to others."

The ride will encompass several training modules to include dynamics of cornering, tire traction management, highway riding techniques and lane position.

Riders are encouraged to inspect their motorcycles prior to the ride.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation developed the acronym T-CLOCS as a way for riders to remember which specific areas to check.
