22nd CPTS Airman earns spotlight performer

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. --  As a spotlight performer, individuals are chosen by leadership for demonstrating the Air Force's Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Senior Airman Robert Santamaria, 22nd Comptroller Squadron financial analyst, received the spotlight performer for the week of Dec. 14 - 18.

As a financial analyst, Santamaria is the primary financial analyst for the mission support group. He conducts the budget and accounting functions necessary to ensure seamless mission execution.

"Senior Airman Santamaria is one of our top Airmen," said Maj. Ryan Archambault-Miliner, 22nd CPTS commander. "This past year, he transitioned from the financial services flight to financial analysis flight and hit the ground running. Santamaria has tackled multiple complex fiscal programs and is now known as an expert in many areas among wing resource advisors. His infectious positive attitude is a true asset to his flight, squadron, and the wing."

Santamaria, a Vacaville, California native, joined the Air Force in November 2011 and arrived at McConnell in April 2012. His hobbies include tabletop games and snowboarding.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
The most positive influence in my life is my Dad. I have always looked back at the advice he's given me.

If you could give advice to a new Airman, what would it be and why?
If I could give advice to a new Airman, it would be that whatever you do, no matter what it is, give it your best shot.

What is one goal that you have already accomplished, or would like to accomplish, during your Air Force career?
I would like to obtain my degree.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
The most interesting place I have traveled is Arizona, seems like you can do anything there.

If you had the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
If I had the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, it would be Steve Carell, he's hilarious.
