The 22nd Air Refueling Wing, along with Corvias Military Living, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion of the first set of new homes, Dec. 11, here.

The ceremony recognized the service members and their families moving into their new homes.

"The Airmen will have quality homes that allows them to focus 100 percent on the mission," said Col. Albert Miller, 22nd ARW commander. "By the end of this project, every home will be either new or renovated."

According to Jim Champagne, Corvias Military Living business director, the new housing is going to be a great place for families to live in and he hopes it will help excite families when they find out they're coming to McConnell.

"It's about providing the quality of life that service members and their families deserve for serving our country," said Champagne.

This is the first new addition to base housing at McConnell since 1998. Corvias engaged in this 50-year partnership in September 2013 to improve the on-base housing and amenities that Airmen and their families deserve through a total development budget of $453 million.

"This is a new beginning, a fresh house, and we're very happy and can't wait to move in," said Master Sgt. Ephraim Hall, 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron section chief customer support and one of the first new residents to move-in.
