Fuel Spill on McConnell AFB Published Sept. 25, 2015 By Staff Reports 22 ARW/PA MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, KAN. -- Officials here confirmed that a fuel spill of approximately 855 gallons occurred in airplane parking at approximately 4:32 a.m. today. Initial reports indicated no injuries or health risk to the public or base population. Base fire department, aircraft maintenance and hazardous material personnel have stopped the leak and contained the fuel to McConnell AFB in the flight drain collection system on the flight line. The cause of the leak is unknown and under investigation. McConnell officials notified the appropriate federal and local agencies. Clean up is underway and no mission impact is expected. More information will be released as it becomes available.
