The 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron dominated the 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron during the McConnell intramural softball championship game, Aug. 18, 2015, here.

The game was one sided, as the 22nd AMXS doubled their opponents score 16-8.

The 22nd AMXS started off strong. In the first inning with three-up and three-down, they switched to offense. They quickly took the lead with great swings, scoring seven runs in the first.

"Everybody did their part getting base hits and made great defensive plays when we needed them," said Nicholas Gerbes, 22nd AMXS first baseman. "Our defense has been strong all season long, so that has helped us out the most."

The 22nd AMXS held back the 22nd CES until the third inning where the 22nd CES managed to scronge up four runs thanks to an error, three singles and a triple.

The rally was too little too late for the 22nd CES. In the next half of the game, CES doubled their score, but allowed another nine runs to score.

After the game, the 22nd AMXS players agreed, that even with the success on the diamond the most enjoyable aspect of the softball season was building camaraderie.

"The most enjoyable part of the season was playing with a new group of people," said  Duane Richardson, 22nd AMXS third baseman. "It was great competing with the other squadrons, getting to know the guys."
