Team McConnell gears up for sports day

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- The 2nd Annual McConnell Sports Day is scheduled for May 21 here.

The goal of the sports day is promote esprit de corps and build relationships among Team McConnell personnel.

The day has been designated as an alternate duty location for 22nd Air Refueling Wing personnel as long as unit supervision is aware of individual locations. Additionally, families are encouraged to attend but pets are not allowed.

The day will begin at 7 a.m. with a 5K Color Run around base. Sporting competitions, including basketball, football, dodgeball and soccer, will begin at 10 a.m. A free lunch will be offered from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate physical training clothing, shoes and safety equipment like shin guards or cleats.

Volunteers are also needed to facilitate and assist sporting competitions to help make the day successful.
