Rachel Waller 22nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- As part of the Department of Defense's Financial Readiness Campaign, Military Saves Week is scheduled for Feb. 23 - 28. The overall goal of the week is to help motivate Team McConnell Airmen and families to save money and become more financially savvy. "We're encouraging people to come in and write what they're saving for," said Mary Reece, Airman and Family Readiness Center director. "We also take their picture and post the pictures and goals on Facebook to remind everyone that they should be saving for some goal in their life." If someone needs assistance on setting financial goals or help understanding their finances, the A&FRC can assist. "My job is to help you use your money efficiently," said Dennis Chrisco, A&FRC community readiness consultant. "If you use your money efficiently then you'll have more and that's what we want, we want you to have more." The A&FRC offers classes monthly to help Team McConnell understand their finances. The classes include Credit Report Review, Home Buying, Ditching the Dorm, Basic Budgeting and Heroes at Home. "You can sign up for a class or you can come in and make a one-on-one appointment and we'll work with you on anything," said Chrisco. "If units have certain topics that they want covered we go over there and teach it." For more information, contact the A&FRC at 759-6020.
