Indoor Track Opening Soon Published Jan. 14, 2015 By 2nd Lt Krystal Jimenez 22 Air Refueling Wind Public Affairs MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Construction on the indoor track on base is scheduled to be finished by mid-February. The renovated track will have less of an incline on the turns and the railing will be eight inches higher to increase safety. "The new indoor track has more gradual turns and less incline to make running easier and more efficient," said Bill Hageman, 22nd force support squadron fitness center director. After the primary gym reopens, floors in the auxiliary gymnasium will also have the floors resurfaced. These floors are currently scheduled to be refinished by the end of February. "The really exciting part will be seeing the value all this construction adds to the fitness center," said Senior Master Sergeant Michael Frazier, 22nd FSS force sustainment superintendent. Further construction will continue throughout the year as the floors in the cardio and weight room are scheduled to be replaced later this year. These upgrades will be done in phases to avoid shutting down the entire room. For more information about the gym visit www.refuelmcconnell.com
