The 2014 Combined Federal Campaign is underway.

Established in 1961, the CFC promotes and supports philanthropy through a program that allows federal employees the opportunity to donate to more than 2,000 non-profit organizations.  The CFC is one of two organizations authorized to solicit federal employees in the workplace on behalf of health and human welfare charitable organizations.

"Donations will serve the needy, comfort the ill, search for cures, protect the environment and help in many other ways," said Joel Jackson, 22nd Air Refueling Wing commander. "It is our opportunity to give back to the community so those who are less fortunate can to receive the benefits they desperately need."

The campaign runs nationally from Sept. 1 until Dec. 15; however, McConnell's solicitation period is scheduled from Oct. 20, to Nov. 19, 2014.

McConnell's goal for the 2014 CFC is to contact 100 percent of available personnel.  This will provide allow Airmen the opportunity to participate in the largest workplace fundraiser while donating to a charity of their choice.

Last year, Team McConnell donated more than $85,000 during the campaign, said Tech. Sgt. Holly Marzula, 22nd Aerospace Medical Squadron chief of preventative dentistry and a CFC wing representative.

"Giving to the CFC enables us to directly contribute to causes that are important to us individually," said Marzula. "This will provide much needed support for many important organizations in our community. The process has even been simplified to allow donors the option of donating directly from their paycheck or they can gradually contribute throughout the year."

Anyone wishing to contribute should contact their group or squadron representatives.
