Col. Joel Jackson, 22nd Air Refueling Wing commander, hosted four town hall meetings to discuss some of the details of upcoming Air Force force shaping measures on Dec. 18 and 19.

He provided information to and answered questions from Airmen and civilians at the meetings about the various programs and measures that will lead thousands of Airmen out of active-duty military service and keep the Air Force's budget within its limits in 2014.

"We want to make sure that you have all of the information you need to make an informed decision about your future," he said.

The continuing budget crisis has lead Air Force officials to announce the departure of up to 25,000 Airmen from active duty and up to 500 aircraft.

Various programs, including voluntary separation boards and temporary early retirement, will be available for Airmen who meet certain requirements in an undetermined number of Air Force Specialty Codes.

The list of affected AFSCs will be released at a later date. For more information on force shaping measures, please visit the following Common Access Card-activated website: https://gumcrm.csd.disa.mil/app/answers/detail/a_id/25484/kw/Force%20Management.
