As a spotlight performer, individuals are chosen by leadership for demonstrating the Air Force's Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Senior Airman Kowan McFalls, 349th Air Refueling Squadron boom operator, received the spotlight performer for the week of April 25-29.

McFalls conducts air refueling operations with U.S. Air Force and foreign aircraft as a KC-135 Stratotanker boom operator. In the past few months, he helped lead squadron scheduling in the absence of the shop's chief and assistant chief.

"Throughout the period, our operational battle rhythm didn't miss a beat,” said Lt. Col. Tad Woolfe, 349th ARS commander. “Kowan ensured our squadron outpaced the group's quarterly aircrew training requirements by 15 percent. In addition to Kowan's hard work in the scheduling shop, he flew key missions over the Atlantic to bring fighter aircraft back home and participated in important exercises that helped hone our joint partners' combat capability. Finally, Kowan worked very hard to improve his physical conditioning and strength. He aims to serve his community in a different uniform next year and become a firefighter.”

McFalls, a Dover, Pennsylvania, native, joined the Air Force in November 2012 and arrived at McConnell in February 2014. His favorite hobby is going to the gym.
