Hodges 22nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- The Airman' s Attic, a place where service members E-5 and below can pick up house hold items, clothes free of charge, will be moved. It will be changing its location to Building 338. The Attic is also in conjunction with the loan closet which will be moving to Building 338 too. The current building, which also housed the thrift store and some youth services programs, will be demolished because it is has aged over the years. Once at its new location, the Attic will continue giving a helping hand to young service members. "Young Airmen may find it difficult to support a family on a low income salary," said Shannan Puchalla, 22nd force Support Squadron government contractor. "The Airman's Attic is here to make it easier for them." All of Airman's Attic items are donated. The donated items include: · Furniture · Small kitchen appliances · Electronics · Clothing · Shoes Linens · Children's toys · Sports equipment · Books · Televisions "It is kind of like going to a yard sale," said Airman 1st Class Laura Valentine, 22nd Air Refueling Wing public affairs specialist. "You always find interesting things. But it's better, because everything's free."
