To be in compliance with the Air Mobility Command's efficiency plan, McConnell's Thrift Shop has relocated. It is located at the corner of Kansas Street and Topeka Street.

"Anyone who can get on base can shop here," said Jan Downing, thrift store day manager.

The majority of items are donated. The second way items are obtained is when they are put on consignment. Consignment is the act of consigning, which is placing any material in the hand of another, but retaining ownership until the goods are sold.

Airmen can choose from a variety of items ranging from clothing, children's toys, small furniture and much more.

McConnell's Thrift Shop is run by the Officers' Spouses' Club.

"The way things work is 70 percent of the money from the sold items goes to the consigner," said Sandy Wurzer, McConnell Thrift Shop chairman. "The other 30 perfect goes to the MOSC who gives it back to the McConnell community in various ways. We raised approximately $1900 last year."

The thrift shop hours are:
-Monday 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
-Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
