With less than 15 seconds remaining in the Intramural Basketball Championship game, the score was tied at 32. After being fouled, Staff Sgt. Steffon Jackson, 22nd Security Forces Squadron combat arms instructor, sunk two free throw shots, helping the Security forces team complete their season undefeated and win the championship.

The 22nd SFS team defeated the combined 22nd Contracting Squadron/ Director of Staff team 34-32 in the Intramural Basketball Championship game Feb. 16, 2012.

The intramural basketball season began last December with 11 teams from various squadrons and base agencies.

Col. Ricky Rupp, 22nd Air Refueling Wing commander, presented the 22nd SFS team with the championship trophy that will be displayed in the squadron. Rupp also presented each member of the team with an individual trophy.

"Great players plus a great sport equals a great team," said Senior Airman Brad Baker, 22nd SFS anti-terrorism advisor and team coach. "Next year, I expect there to be a lot of competition -- but I also expect to win the championship."

Intramural basketball gives the opportunity for friendly competition between squadrons. It also helps to boost morale and the spirit of camaraderie said Senior Airman Cody Bottoms, 22nd Force Support Squadron services journeyman.
