"Anytime, anywhere" typically refers to McConnell's refueling capability, however Nov. 14, 2011, an Operation Nighthawk was activated with similar potential.

With the support of chief master sergeants, first sergeants and commanders, the Drug Demand Reduction Program set up a mobile collection station at the Robert J. Dole Community Center. ONHs are just one of the tools available to commanders to promote order and discipline.

"To pull off this operation it took a great team of Airmen," said Chief Master Sgt. Michael Edwards, 22nd Air Refueling Wing command chief. "The operations encourage deterrence and help keep our work centers operationally safe and free of drugs."

The DDRP can randomly set up ONH stations across the base from the front gate to a squadron's hallway.

Random testing from the last quarter has resulted in two pending court cases for drug use. Operations like nighthawk can have great impact in preventing future drug crimes and keep a safe environment for Team McConnell, said DDRP officials.

"The fact that military members are subjected to drug testing at any time should deter illicit drug abuse/use," said Lisa Bowser, 22nd Medical Group DDRP manager. "It's just not compatible with military service."
