Nonjudicial punishment (Article 15) provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. Two McConnell Airmen received Article 15s in June 2011.

An airman first class received a reduction to airman and a suspended reduction to airman basic, suspended forfeiture of $200 pay per month for two months, 20 days of extra duty, and a reprimand for driving under the influence and underage drinking.

A senior airman received a suspended reduction to airman first class, forfeiture of $200 pay per month for two months, and a reprimand for being late to work on two different occasions, reporting to duty without the proper uniform, and providing a false official statement.

Military members continue to make poor decisions--adversely impacting the Air Force's, this wing's, and their unit's mission and ultimately "taking a hit" to their own careers. Everyone should be aware of the disciplinary measures taken here at McConnell. In order to better understand the standards expected of Air Force members and the impact upon themselves should they decide to "cross the line." If the behavior warrants it, the Airman may face court-martial. In the month of June 2011, McConnell convened one court-martial.

An airman first class from the 22nd Maintenance Squadron was charged with providing alcohol to a person under the age of 21, and two accounts of wrongful in sexual acts by fondling another without consent. On June 2, 2011, a court-martial was convened. The member was found not guilty of all charges and was acquitted.
