Commander Congratulates Airmen for winning 2010 MUA

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. --  Team McConnell (Airpower),

It's been a big week for us. We found out the 22nd Air Refueling Wing earned the 2010 Meritorious Unit Award and as of today we have 3 new Chief Master Sgt. Selects. Congratulations to Senior Master Sgt. Charles Hoffman, Senior Master Sgt. Pamela Rathers, and Senior Master Sgt. Donald Woods on this significant milestone in their careers. Also, thanks to everyone on the team for continually striving to provide superior warfighter support. You are Ready Airmen, working from a Ready Base and you provide Ready Mobility around the globe ... because of your efforts we won the 2010 MUA.

Hopefully, you enjoyed Veteran's Day and had an opportunity to relax after our week long exercise. The good news is we get another chance to celebrate next week in recognition of Thanksgiving. As we enter this weekend and some of you begin your holiday traveling season, please take the time to plan your trips ... as yesterday's snow flurries reminded us, winter weather is here. Each of you is essential to our team and we need you to return safe and rested.

Boss n' Buddy & Grill Your Own Steak: Nov. 19, from 4-7p.m., at the Storm Cellar, celebrate the end of another successful week with your co-workers at Boss n' Buddy and grill your own steak. Ecumenical Thanksgiving: Nov. 23, from 7-8 p.m. at the Base Chapel, join the McConnell Chapel Corps and the McConnell Family as we come together to offer our thanksgiving for the bounty of our lives. There will be special musical offerings from the Catholic and Protestant worship communities along with an inspiring message from Father Hotze.
