McConnell Airmen receive non judicial punishment Published July 15, 2009 By 22nd ARW Staff Judge Advocate MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Non judicial punishment, also known as an Article 15 punishment, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. Several McConnell Airmen received Article 15s June 1 through June 30. Punishment is determined on a case by case basis. An airman first class from the 22nd Security Forces Squadron wrongfully possessed Oxycodone (Tylox), a schedule II controlled substance. He received an immediate reduction to the grade of airman, suspended forfeitures of $784.00 pay per month for two months, and a reprimand. Subsequently, he was administratively discharged from the Air Force with a general discharge. An airman first class from the 22nd Operations Support Squadron was disorderly. She received an immediate reduction to airman and a reprimand. An airman from the 22nd Operations Support Squadron failed to obey a written order, made a false official statement, and assaulted another Airman. She received an immediate reduction to airman basic and a reprimand. An airman first class from the 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron operated a vehicle while drunk and was disorderly. He received an immediate reduction to airman, forfeitures of $699.00 pay per month for one month, suspended forfeitures of $699.00 pay per month for one month and restriction to the limits of McConnell AFB for 30 days. Subsequently, he was administratively discharged from the Air Force with a general discharge. An airman first class from the 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron willfully disobeyed a noncommissioned officer and failed to refrain from texting on a cellular phone while operating a government vehicle. He received a suspended reduction to airman, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand. An airman from the 22nd Maintenance Squadron willfully damaged his common access card by altering his birth date. He received a suspended reduction to airman basic, forfeitures of $50.00 pay per month for one month, 30 days extra duty, restriction to the limits of McConnell AFB for 30 days, and a reprimand. An airman first class from the 22nd Air Refueling Wing operated a vehicle while drunk. He received an immediate reduction to Airman, 45 days extra duty and restriction to the limits of McConnell AFB for 45 days. A senior airman from the 22nd Maintenance Squadron on two occasions failed to obey a technical order. He received an immediate reduction to airman first class. A staff sergeant from the 10th Air Support Operations Squadron made unauthorized purchases on his government travel card. He received forfeitures of $1,167.00 pay per month for two months. An airman first class from the 22nd Operations Support Squadron was disorderly. He received an immediate reduction to airman and a reprimand. A staff sergeant from the 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron failed to report for duty at his prescribed time. He received an immediate reduction to senior airman and suspended forfeitures of $1109.00 pay per month for two months. An airman first class from the 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron failed to report for duty, squadron physical fitness, at the prescribed time. He received an immediate reduction to airman basic, forfeitures of $699.00 pay per month of one month, suspended forfeitures of $699.00 pay per month for one month, restriction to the limits of McConnell AFB for 30 days, and a reprimand. Subsequently, he was administratively discharged from the Air Force with a general discharge. An airman from the 22nd Maintenance Squadron failed to refrain from having an open container in his vehicle and failed to stop at a stop sign. He received immediate reduction to airman basic, suspended forfeitures of $699.00 pay per month for two months, and restriction to the limits of McConnell AFB for 30 days. Subsequently, he was administratively discharged from the Air Force with a general discharge.
