Team McConnell would like to honor Staff Sgt. Justin Hebert, 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, his wife, Rebecca, and their children, Zane, 5, Liam, 3, and Alexis 2, by giving them a Year of the Air Force Family Spotlight award. The award is an Airman and Family Readiness Center initiative to honor families that provide outstanding support to Team McConnell.

The Hebert family moved to McConnell in April after serving a four-year tour at Kadena Air Base, Japan.

According to their nomination package, Mrs. Hebert exemplifies the compassion, hard work and dedication of an Air Force spouse. During her husband's recent deployment, Mrs. Hebert organized and accomplished a care-package drive through her local community for Airmen serving with her husband in Southwest Asia. She believes, while many people focus on showing deployed servicemembers support during major holidays, such as Christmas and Thanksgiving, it's important to show Airmen downrange support year round and during less celebrated holidays, like Halloween and Valentine's Day.

However, Mrs. Hebert's efforts wouldn't have been as effective without her husband's support. While deployed, Sergeant Hebert delivered the care packages his wife sent to Airmen across his base. He also returned home with certificates of appreciation and flags flown in honor of those who helped provide the packages and support.

The Hebert family is being recognized because they truly support Team McConnell and the Air Force.
