McConnell receives additional COVID vaccines

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. – COVID vaccination at McConnell have opened up to a larger group starting Friday.

Vaccinations are now open to military medical beneficiaries 65 and up, as well as those with an increased risk for severe illness ranging between the ages of 18 to 64. Conditions include, but are not limited to, type 2 diabetes, smoking, obesity, COPD, Down syndrome, cancer and kidney disease.

Medical beneficiaries must have TRICARE insurance or have access to McConnell as a base employee to qualify for the vaccine.

Appointments can now be made for March 12 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the Appointy app or website. Subsequent vaccination events will be held on the following dates: March 18, March 26, April 1, April 8, May 6, May 13, May 20 and May 27.

Appointments can be made one week before each event, and will be held on base at the Robert J. Dole Community Center Ballroom.
