MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan -- The 22nd Air Refueling Wing is participating in the annual Combined Federal Campaign fundraiser until Jan. 15, 2025.
The CFC is an annual giving campaign that allows military members and civilian federal employees to donate to charitable organizations that align with their values and interests. The campaign operates within all federal agencies and military services.
Under this year’s theme “Give Happy”, the wing’s goal is to make 100% contact with all McConnell personnel and to increase participation and awareness of the CFC and its mission.
“The CFC is important because it provides federal employees with an easy and convenient way to support charitable organizations that are important to them,” said Senior Master Sgt. Jonathan Talley, 22nd ARW CFC co-coordinator. “The CFC also helps to raise awareness of the important work that these organizations do, and it provides a significant source of funding for many nonprofit organizations.”
“My way to connect with giving is with my awesome dog Maggie Mae,” said Capt. Alexander Lewit, 22 ARW CFC co-coordinator, when talking about what this year’s theme means to him. “My wife and I got Maggie a few years ago, and she has really become part of our family. CFC has multiple organizations that provide veterans who need a companion with service dogs to assist them. This is my way to happily give back to those who have given so much to our country already.”
According to the CFC, last year's campaign resulted in $70.1 million being raised to local, national and international charities. Since the campaign’s inception, the program has raised more than $8.76 billion.
“Even a small donation can make a big difference in the lives of those in need,” Lewit said. “By participating in the CFC, federal employees can support the causes they care about and make a positive impact in their community and the world. Additionally, federal employees can take pride in knowing that their donations are going to support reputable and vetted charitable organizations without worry.”
