David Cook, the winner of American Idol Season 7, will perform a free concert for the McConnell community at the Robert J. Dole Community Center parking lot, May 12, 6:30 p.m.

McConnell will be the first concert out of the 17 military installations during Cooks tour from May to September.

"There will be an autograph signing party before the show and we are holding a 'Fake-a-Selfie-with-David-Cook Contest," to select who attends," said Tierra Kimble, 22nd Force Support Squadron marketing director. "We want people to get creative."

The "fake selfies" can be something as simple as holding up a picture of Cook. Photo-editing is allowed. Participants can send their photos or illustrations to 22.SVS.Marketing@us.af.mil by April 22.

The selfies will be displayed in a photo album on the Boomer B. McConnell Facebook page to be voted on between April 25 and May 6. The top 50 winners will be announced May 8.

"It feels amazing to host an event of this stature for our Airmen, their families and the McConnell community," said Kimble. "This is a unique experience for our base personnel and I'm glad to be a part of it."
