As a spotlight performer, individuals are chosen by leadership for demonstrating the Air Force's Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Senior Airman Mark Hudson, 22nd Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment journeyman, received the spotlight performer for the week of Feb. 22 - 26.

Hudson's responsibilities include utilizing technical order data and appropriate tools for all inspection tasks, coordinating influx of equipment and keeping the NCO in-charge up to speed on changes of personnel and equipment issues affecting the sections mission.

"Hudson is our go-to person who consistently accomplishes the mission selflessly, and because of this he is currently the acting floor supervisor to our AGE inspections section," said Staff Sgt. Austin Pope, 22nd MXS AGE section NCO in-charge. "He is reliable and takes pride in his work."

Hudson, a Findlay, Ohio native, joined the Air Force in December 2010 and arrived at McConnell in June 2015. His hobbies include running, lifting weights, playing golf and rooting for University of Michigan sports teams.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
My peers are my positive influences because I strive to show them what it means to be an excellent worker without complaining and leading by example.

If you could give advice to a new Airman, what would it be and why?
You will have good days and you will have bad days. It is all about keeping your head held high and putting one foot in front of the other. Attitude is everything!

What is one goal that you have already accomplished, or would like to accomplish, during your Air Force career?
The one goal I had was to travel at any opportunity that arose. I have been deployed three times, been on two temporary duty assignments, and assigned to three bases. I have definitely met my goal; however, I am always striving to get out there and travel to more places.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
The most interesting place I have traveled to was Japan. Being able to have the opportunity to be stationed in Misawa was an eye-opening experience. I will never take for granted the time that was spent there as I was able to learn more about myself.

If you had the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
The person I would love to have the honor to meet died a long time ago. If I could meet with Steve Prefontaine that would be a dream come true as running has been a major part of my life.
